主人公の市川京太郎は、中二病を患う陰キャで、日々殺人の妄想を繰り広げていた。
ある日、彼は同級生の山田杏奈が学校に食べ物を持ち込み、図書室で食べているのを目撃する。その後も山田は美少女のイメージとはかけ離れた言動をとり、京太郎はそんな彼女を放っておけなくなるが、その理由が分からず煩悶する。そんな折、体育の授業で山田が負傷するアクシデントが起こる。負傷に涙する山田を見ていた京太郎もいつしか泣いており、自分が山田に恋していることを自覚する。一方の山田も当初は京太郎のことを特に気に留めていなかったが、次第に彼に関心を抱き、お気に入りの漫画を貸すなど自分から積極的に交流を図るようになる。
