21世紀初頭の日本でエリートサラリーマンだった主人公が、死後の世界で神と名乗る存在Xによって無信仰を咎められ、魔法が存在する第一次世界大戦と第二次世界大戦が混ざったような状況の異世界に幼女の軍人・ターニャ・デグレチャフとして転生させられる。
ターニャは前世の記憶を持ったまま、天性の魔導の才能から幼くして徴募され、士官学校へ進む。前世の知識を活かして軍人としてのキャリアを積み、安全な後方勤務で順風満帆な人生を送ろうと目論むが、思惑は外れ、大戦の最前線に送り込まれ続ける。
ターニャは自分が所属する「帝国」の兵士として敵対国家群と戦っていくが、その過程で存在Xと対立し、信仰を取り戻すことを拒否する。そのために存在Xはターニャに様々な試練を与えていく。

Reincarnated in a different world as a little girl soldier, Tanya Degurechaff. With memories of her previous life, Tanya was conscripted at a young age due to her natural talent for magic and entered the military academy. Utilizing the knowledge of his previous life, he plans to build a career as a soldier and live a smooth life by working safely in the rear, but his plans go awry and he continues to be sent to the front lines of the war. Tanya fights against hostile nations as a soldier of the "Empire" to which she belongs, but in the process, she comes into conflict with Existence X and refuses to regain her faith. For that reason, Existence X gives Tanya various trials.
